How much does it cost to commission an pet portrait?
The cost of commissioning a pet portrait is usually between 500 and 3000 SEK. What determines the price is: choice of technique, level of detail, size and style.
Pencil, charcoal, marker, pan pastel and watercolour: Generally costs between 500 and 3000 SEK.
The cost of animal portraits in acrylic, oil paint or very detailed or large paintings and drawings start at 3000 SEK.
JNArt has the ability to create detailed and vibrant animal portraits at a great price. Together, we will find the technique and level of detail that gives the best result for your budget.
Level of detail
The level of detail in an animal portrait affects the price, as it usually takes longer to create a more detailed portrait. As the client, you have the option to request a level of detail that suits you. JNArt can create anything from sketchy quick portraits to hyper-realistic and photo-realistic ones.
Different formats of your pet portrait
You can order paintings and drawings of animals in different formats. The most common to order are A5, A4, A3 or A2. These standard formats are favourable because you can buy the passepartout and frame cheaper. But the possibilities don't stop there, larger or smaller formats also work, both for paintings and drawings.

What is the process of ordering an pet portrait?
- Contact me via email, phone or through the order form.
- We'll bounce ideas around and come up with something that's perfect for you: technique, level of detail, size, budget and style.
- You confirm the order (paying a deposit, for orders with a higher budget).
- I create your pet portrait.
- The portrait is paid for and delivered to the customer.
Delivery information
How long does it take to order a pet painting or drawing?
I always aim to deliver animal portraits within two weeks. Sometimes there may be a slightly longer wait, but if it's urgent I make sure to prioritise portraits that need to be finished quickly. When you send an order request, you will receive an estimate of when delivery can take place.
How are portraits delivered?
Once completed, your personalised animal portrait will be well packaged to keep protected during the shipping.
The portrait is delivered as a parcel, traceable shipment.
If you live near the Gothenburg area, you can avoid the shipping costs by picking up the artwork. JNArt has its studio in Majorna.
Can I have my animal portrait framed?
For an additional cost, I will frame your picture in the best way, with passepartout, on a wedge frame or regular frame. It may take more time for some types of frames.

Do I need to describe the animal when I order a pet portrait?
You are welcome to tell me about your pet's personality, its likes, its favourite activities or perhaps something it dislikes when you commission a pet portrait. It helps me to capture the animal's character. But it's not a must - JNArt can create great pet portraits even without a description.
Can I order a portrait with both pets and people?
Yes, JNArt has extensive experience in painting and drawing portraits of both animals and people - and combining them in the same portrait.
Can I order portraits of any animal?
Yes, JNArt can create portraits of any animal. You can order portraits of pets, wild animals, insects, fictional animals - and much more. Don't hesitate to contact me if you want to brainstorm!
What should the reference photos be like?
When commissioning a handmade pet portrait, clear reference photos are an advantage - preferably ones where you really recognise your pet and where the lighting is interesting. But it is absolutely possible to create portraits from different types of photos. Feel free to contact JNArt, and I will give my opinion on whether your photo works as a reference.
I don't have any good photos of my animal, how can I order an animal portrait?
I can often create nice animal portraits even if the photo template is not so good. There is that option, or you take new pictures from the the tips you can find hereor you can have someone else takes new photos of the animal.
Can I have my pet portrait in a specific style?
Yes, it is usually possible to organise your pet portrait in a particular style. This can involve different mediums and techniques, but also specific art styles or design trends. Feel free to contact JNArt and describe what you have in mind - and we'll see what's possible!
What if I am not satisfied with my portrait?
It is important to me that you as a customer are satisfied with the finished artwork. Before placing an order, it is therefore crucial that we have a clear dialogue, so that the framework of the project is clear and your expectations can be met. If you have any comments on the finished portrait, you are always welcome to share them - in most cases I can make adjustments. Should JNArt not have completed the assignment as agreed, you are of course entitled to cancel the purchase.
Can my pet portrait be in a specific environment?
Of course! Describe the environment you want or attach photos.
Can JNArt create animal caricatures or funny animal portraits?
Yes you can add attributes, make up crazy scenes or JNArt can create a caricature of your animal.
